Please note: there are no wide releases this week in the wake of the Christmas glut. The only new movie opening in Orlando is this one at the Enzian. It has been in limited release for about a month elsewhere in the country.

A decorated police detective’s life takes a downward spiral of guns, corruption and violence in post-Katrina New Orleans in this new movie from maverick filmmaker Werner Herzog (Fitzcarraldo). I’m not sure what it has to do with the 1992 Abel Ferrara film Bad Lieutenant (probably not much) but this has been getting some pretty complimentary reviews.
