Now that the Florida Film Festival has come and gone, things are going to return to normal (more or less). Later this week, we’ll be publishing our Summer Film Preview – you won’t want to miss that. The Four-Warned May preview will also be coming out this week.
Coming out shortly will be our first interview – with filmmaker Chris Brown and actress Jill Pixley from the film Fanny, Annie and Danny. We had a wonderful time chatting with the two of them at a local restaurant while they were here for the Festival and we hope that you’ll get a sense of that when the interview is published next week.
Although not strictly movie talk, I wanted to make special mention of the HBO series “Game of Thrones.” Based on the fantasy series by George R. R. Martin, the first two installments have been faithful to the novel and have shown a great deal of imagination in bringing the series to life. I’m a big fan of the books (and believe me, I’m absolutely ecstatic that the long-delayed fifth book in the series is finally coming out in July) so this is a welcome addition to the television landscape. There are some great science fiction shows out there but there really haven’t been very many high fantasy shows worth writing home again until now. Hopefully that will lead to some better fantasy product in the theaters now that aren’t based on books by J.R.R. Tolkein or J.K. Rowling.
