To the citizens of Aurora, Colorado after this morning’s massacre at the midnight screening of The Dark Knight Rises, Cinema365 sends our deepest and sincerest condolences and kudos to the law enforcement offiials who quickly arrested the man who appears to be responsible. This incident serves as a reminder of just how fragile and precious life is and how quickly and unexpectedly we can lose it – a trip to the theater to see a long-anticipated movie can end up being our last action.
In the coming weeks I’m sure there’ll be a lot of rhetoric as to how this happened and what might be done in the future to prevent it. Some of the discussion will be reasonable but most of it will be hysteria and nonsense. Do take the time to consider which is which and don’t get involved in the mud-slinging and flaming that is sure to accompany this tragedy and will make it worse rather than make things better.
