She tells the story of her previous engagement to a new prospective suitor who happens to be a police inspector. He also happens to be chasing her ex who has become a notorious thief who is giving all his ill-gotten gains away to charities for children. Seems like kind of an extreme way to win your lover back.

She begins to change into something more than human, which not only makes her a danger to the drug smugglers but potentially to the whole human race as well.
